Lincolnshire vs Leicestershire at South Kyme Golf Club

16 ladies from 12 different clubs made the journey into deepest, darkest Lincolnshire, only to find that some of the home team had had even further to come. It’s a big county. There was a friendly buzz in the clubhouse as players met their partners, many of whom were already familiar to each other, but one or two of whom were new to this Vets match malarky. The course was very natural (that means there was a lot of goose poo around). We spotted a hare, geese, pheasants, moorhens and grouse, and one pair reported spotting an e-nor-mous hedgehog. In between Springwatch on the golf course, some tight battles were being fought, off scratch and pretty evenly matched. The result was a creditable 3 – 5 win to Leicestershire. Hurrah.
