Leicestershire & Rutland versus Nottinghamshire 2nd Team Match
The season continues at pace and our last inter-county match at home was played at Longcliffe Golf Club on Thursday 27th July.
The Nottinghamshire Captain, Meg Maunder was on the first tee to see us all off on a tricky par 3 starting hole. All the matches were soon underway on a beautifully presented golf course. Rain had again been forecast but we were extremely fortunate to escape with one or two light showers. Handicaps were very well matched in all the pairings resulting in some very close games.
With the matches over we enjoyed a superb meal of quiche and coronation chicken, a variety of salad dishes, new potatoes and fruit pavlova. There really was something for everyone in the selection of salads available. A box of Milk Tray chocolates to accompany the coffee and tea was given to each table of 8 ladies rounding of a wonderful day. What a lovely touch and much appreciated.
A great day and a great result of 4½ to 3½ win to Leicestershire and Rutland. A huge thank you to all the ladies who played and enjoyed their day at Longcliffe Golf Club.
