What a glorious day of warmth and sunshine we had for our match with Market Harborough Senior Gents on Thursday 1st June.
Our hosts had organised everything extremely well and put us all at ease, with coffee on arrival and cards already prepared.
Sue Bromwich our President started us all off on the first tee and joined us for a meal after our game.
We played a 4 Ball Am-Am off 90% handicap with one lady and one gent to count on each hole, all to count on the 18th.
Scores were very close indeed with only 8 points between the first and last group:
Runners-up: J Robinson, D Penny, (Market Harborough Gents) with Shirley Hardy and Ann Henry (79points).
The Winning group were G Lightfoot, P May (Market Harborough Gents) with Julie Stretton and Helen Waterhouse. 79 points was also the winning score – decided on count back over the last 6 holes.
Nearest the Pin for the Ladies was Geraldine Moss.
Congratulations to the winning ladies and gents and a huge thank you to all who played.
Prizes were provided by the host team and all ladies received a lovely ball marker/pitch repairer as a memento of the day.
The course was very well presented and we enjoyed a lovely meal of salmon or steak pie with strawberry pavlova, coffee and mints after the match. A lovely end to a wonderful day.
