The 1^st team were the guest of the 2^nd team for the finale of our season at Cosby Golf Club. Janice Sterland, 2^nd team Captain, extended a warm welcome to all and then she and Trish Formoy, 1^st team Captain, announced the pairings and the matches.  A special welcome was extended to a very last-minute sub, Jeanette, who had received the call-up one hour before she teed off.  What a star!  

The format was 8 matches of betterball matchplay. All matches were played in warm sunshine and excellent spirit. Three of the players, including President Sandra Roberts, have played for both 1^st and 2^nd teams this year, either because their handicaps move over the threshold or because she is the President, after all.    

The match was followed by a delicious meal of beef or vegetarian tartlet and vegetables and then a riotous photo session in which we all tried to cram in and face forward at the same time.  Janice commented that the 1^st team, who had all turned up in club colours rather than LRVLGA shirts (to distinguish themselves) looked a right rabble.  

The result was a win to the 1^st team of 6 ½ to 1 ½.  Perhaps it was the club shirts.
