3rd team v Northants 16th June 2025

Leicestershire and Rutland Veteran Ladies v Northamptonshire 16th June at Northampton Harleston Park
The luck of 2nd and 3rd teams continued as we played our fifth match in the dry, this time with hot sun and almost cloudless skies.
The 16 ladies who took part came from 12 clubs over the counties, so it was a great opportunity for all to meet new people.
The trauma of a road closure led to some ladies having to take lengthy diversions, but we took it all in our stride and everyone arrived in time to relax before their allotted tee time.
Both Captains were called Pauline - easy in some respects, confusing in others. The result of a loss to Northamptonshire 6 to 2 was very harsh. We achieved one win, two halves, and two matches were decided on the 18th; well done all.
The most important thing is that everyone enjoyed the day, had the opportunity to play a lovely course in the true spirit of the game, and meet other ladies from our counties and
beyond. On that score it was a win for all.
