2nd Team + Whetstone Senior Gentlemen
This fixture is played as an AM/AM with one L&RVLGA Lady and one Whetstone Senior Gent to score on each hole, playing off 90% handicap. This is a very popular fixture with the ladies.
Senior Captain Brian and his team welcomed the ladies to Whetstone GC on a very warm sunny day. The course was in very good condition and everyone thoroughly enjoyed both the company, and the competition. The Senior Gents were very hospitable, providing tea/coffee and biscuits before going out to play and a delicious meal of Roast Lamb or Salmon followed by Profiteroles or Chocolate and Orange Cheesecake when we came in.
It was the turn of the L&RVLGA Ladies to organise the competition this year and they provided bottles of wine for both the Winning Team and Nearest the Pin.
Nearest the Pin for the Gentlemen on the 9th Hole was Bill Bowley.
Unfortunately none of the L&RVLGA ladies managed to land on the 14th green so no prize was awarded for Nearest the Pin.
The winning team with 82 points were Steve Cave, Dennis Burbage, Liz Reddick from Charnwood Forest Golf Club and Sheila Chamberlain from Scraptoft Golf Club.
