2nd team’s AMAM with the Rothley Park Senior Gentlemen

The day dawned with some promising sunshine on the day of our AMAM with the lovely Senior Gentlemen of Rothley Park. Unfortunately, not everyone managed to get back into the clubhouse without a soaking, as we’ve come to expect of our Spring weather, but the games were played in great spirit and some excellent scores attained. The winners were Sue Gee of Kibworth and Pam Fox of Lingdale and their partners on a back nine countback from Eithne Martin of Whetstone and Susie Tyler of Rothley and their partners. I was surprised and delighted to manage to hold on to the Nearest The Pin prize after going out in the first group. We were served a delicious two course meal afterwards. A special thanks to Angela Wright for handling the money on the day for me, with Lady Vice Pauline enjoying a holiday away. Everyone has now been notified of the matches that they will definitely be playing this year, but I am still looking for a couple of players to travel to Ashby Decoy for the Lincolnshire match, if you are free! I may well of course be looking for late replacements for other games at some stage. The next match is our game v Staffordshire at Hinckley on 10th May and I look forward to seeing the team there.
