We were welcomed to this annual AmAm with the Whetstone Senior Gents with coffee and biscuits and everyone looking forward to playing this event with lots of laughter throughout the day.
Thankfully the weather for this match was cooler than of late and very pleasant.
The format is one lady and one gent to score on each hole with all to count on all par 3’s. There were two nearest the pin holes, the 14thand 17th. Neither of them easy with ponds, ditches and bunkers coming into play.
The winning team were: Valerie Wilford (Kilworth Springs) and Joyce Calow (Birstall) with Brian Turner and Paul Danvers with a magnificent 98 points.
Nearest the pin on the 14th was Jude Stevenson (Birstall) and on the 17thAngela Lane (Longcliffe).
Congratulations to the winners, Brian Turner in the winning team for the 2nd year running. A great day out was enjoyed by all and a huge thank you to all who played.
Having sponsored the trophy, it was great that Valerie Wilford was in the winning team and will now have her name on the trophy.
We had Roast Lamb for dinner and a choice of desserts which was lovely, coffee and mints were served by the gents to end the meal.
