2nd Team Am Am fixture with Whetstone senior Gentlemen Whetstone GC on 6th August 2026
Beautiful weather, but not too hot greeted us at Whetstone and as ever we were treated to an excellent day, they had worked extremely hard on the golf course after the problems last year, which they should be extremely proud of, and again after our exertions we were treated to a lovely meal.
Brian their Captain had completed all the cards for when I arrived, which has happened with all our fixtures this year, making life much easier especially when travelling some distance, I have then reciprocated for all the away teams, after agreeing that we would go with the handicap indexes relevant on the day before.
As ever, competition to come out on top was fierce but in an extremely friendly manner with the winning team consisting of:-
Jayne Vallance, Chris Lewis, Bob Willett and Robert Griffiths with an amazing 91pts
Cecelia Crowson-Quinn and Cindy Smith came 2nd just on count back with 86pts
With Janet King and Pauline Dignan 3rd
Nearest the pin ladies was Eithne Martin

Well done to all the winners, but a huge thank you again ladies for playing in the team.
