2nd team match v Northamptonshire at Cold Ashby GC
Everything about this fixture has been amazing from the accommodation we received from Christine their competition secretary, when sorting out a date for the fixture, (although I hadn’t realised it was The County Shield Day) to the final team and catering arrangements with their Captain Pauline.
What a fantastic choice of venue Cold Ashby GC turned out to be, a truly amazing golf course, challenging, but with different shots required on each hole, I’m sure our ladies found it totally enjoyable, as we don’t get to play courses of this quality and difficulty very often. It was decided en masse to make it a 9 hole match, due to the extreme temperatures.
Even so the whole day seemed to go so well, even the extreme temperatures didn’t spoil the camaraderie which exuded from both teams, which is what these fixtures are all about.
The day concluded with a lovely meal served with real generosity by the catering staff who must have been suffering in the heat, and we all departed for home having spent a lovely day (although one of us had to go back because even though Jan D had again helped pack up the Banner, left it on the bench!!!)
We won 4 1/2 - 3 1/2
