This is our annual Wooden Spoon game versus Derbyshire.

We were holding the spoon from last year’s match and were hoping return it to Derbyshire.

The weather was a little strange with occasional drizzly rain, but didn’t last very long. The course proved to be unpredictable as the continuing

dry weather created some very difficult bounces and lies to contend with.

The matches were close and played in good spirits. Lingdale provided us with excellent service and meal following playing.

The results were a win of 5.1/2 – 2.1/2 to Leicestershire and Rutland, and I was delighted to hand the Spoon over to Derbyshire. Let’s hope they

keep it next year!
