Always a very popular fixture, this proved to be as enjoyable as ever with the men being very welcoming and friendly; the catering never fails to please, and this was no exception. It was also good to play in the dry with plenty of sunshine, if not more than a little wind 😂
The ladies who took part came from 11 Clubs over the counties giving a great opportunity to catch up with old friends and make new ones.
Congratulations to the winning team comprising Maggie Harding (Scraptoft), Jo Pepper (Cosby), Bill Bowley and Peter Seddon with a very impressive score of 95. Peter made a special request to play in this match as the partner of our late President Sue Barker, so the win was especially apt as well as poignant.
The other teams in the top three were Tina Jardim (Ullesthorpe Court), Ethne Martin (Whetstone), Scott McCartney and Andy Else with 91 points; Ann Bancroft (Hinckley), Trish Twist (Cosby), Phil Bamford and Pete Worton came third with 89 - all very impressive scores. 👏🏼👏🏼
