2nd team v 1st team

2nd Team v 1st Team - Friday 14th October 2022

What can I say, a repeat of the 4th August on the weather front. The sunshine is following us around and it certainly shone at Longcliffe last Friday. There was a real buzz in the Club House with tea and coffee on arrival at 9.00 a.m. and everyone wondering if they were 1st or 2nd team that day, with a real mix of handicaps. After a warm welcome from the Ladies Captain of Longcliffe (me by the way!) we were all off on the 1st tee from 10.00 a.m. Although I say so myself, the course was fabulous and Janice and I agreed that it was a good decision to reschedule the match due to course maintenance work taking place in September, particularly as Janice hit the flag on the 15th and was relieved she only made a birdie rather than a “hole in one”.

Captain Janice also had the honour of giving the score, a convincing win by the 1st Team which isn’t surprising since “super-sub President Sue” was making an appearance for them and having had a practise round the previous day in the Ladies Open was on top form!

Both Janice and I thanked our players for their support on the day, Paul for the excellent meal and Longcliffe for hosting us yet again.

President Sue also thanked the Captains’ and Vice-Captains’ for their commitment to the Association during the year. So – out with the old and in with the new!! My very last report!
