2nd Team v Nottinghamshire Print 2nd Team v Nottinghamshire Wednesday 1st June 2022 We had lovely weather for our Match at Rothley Park Golf Club on Wednesday and it was a pleasure to see our Nottinghamshire opponents sitting outside in the sunshine and somewhat more relaxed than their organiser Di and myself who had to wait until their players arrived to enable us to check their WHS Index – unfortunately Di didn’t know which Clubs her team players represented. Vice-Captain Jan did a sterling job again collecting the ‘dinner money’ and handing out the biscuits, thank you Jan. Although we had good representation from Rothley Park as host Club and a great squad of players, we didn’t manage to win. However most of our matches went to the 17th and 18th holes. A special mention must go to Amanda Morgan and Mary Husseini who won their match 6&4! The handicaps for this fixture are set at 17-28 - Nottinghamshire fielded four of their 1st Team players, presumably as they had cancelled their 1st Team match due to being unable to field a team! Rothley Park made us feel most welcome and it was good to meet so many more Leicestershire ladies, I really am trying to put faces to names so do bear with me and thank you all for turning out to represent L&RVLGA – see you all again soon!
