2nd Team v Lincolnshire
Monday 13th June 2022 Is it really June? well it is today as I write this report, anticipated 30 degrees, a shame it was cold on Monday when we played our match against Lincolnshire at Beedles Lake, but a relief to be on home territory with not too many late cancellations and places to fill. Lincolnshire ladies only wanted a one course meal and chose the Beef & Ale pie which was delicious and most welcome as the sun came out and shone over the lake. This, however, wasn’t to everyone’s liking with at least 25% of our ladies opting for a vegetarian meal or other specific requests which Beedles Lake effortlessly provided. We were well looked after, thank you Jon and your staff.
It was a pleasure to have our President Sue again stepping in. This time replacing Vice-Captain Jan, and it was lovely to see everyone so friendly plus we had the added benefit of Secretary Avis and Competitions Secretary Sheila both supporting the 2nd Team. The match was close, all square with myself and Captain Jackie Friend from Lincolnshire eagerly awaiting the last result and yes – here we go again – President Sue came in, playing with Jane Bews of Scraptoft with a win on the 18th giving L&RVLGA their first win of the Season!!
